A trans teen in Southborough, MA has a restraining order against their parents for past violence and has been removed from their home by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF). The parents deny the allegations of violence, which contradicts court records, and are accusing DCF of removing the teen because the parents oppose the teen’s transition. They are also accusing Northborough/Southborough High School of secretly transitioning their child. Under Massachusetts DCF policy, the parental lack of support for gender transition would not trigger a removal of a child from a home and a minor cannot receive gender affirming care without permission from their physician and parents.
The parents are claiming they are being targeted because they are Catholic and their religious freedom is being attacked. And, as expected, the Trump administration is investigating.
