German TV actress and MTV presenter Collien Fernandes has accused ex-husband Christian Ulmen, also a former MTV presenter, comedian, and actor, of being behind a long series of deepfake images and social media accounts in which he impersonated her and pretended to be offering phone sex to numerous associates of the couple in the film industry. After years of trying to stop these humiliating fakes, which she assumed were posted by an anonymous harasser, she says Ulmen confessed to her on Christmas Day 2024 that he was behind all of them. Ulmen, who starred in the German comedy series Jerks, has long nurtured the public image of a modern pro-feminist man. Fernandes now accuses him of “virtual rape,” likening her victimization to that of Gisèle Pelicot by her creepy husband. Why do some men take pleasure in presenting their wives to the world as sluts or whores? This comedian’s practical joke isn’t funny.
She has filed a criminal complaint against Ulmen in Spain, where they maintained a second residence. The case promises to set a precedent, and unfortunately we can expect to see other estranged husbands employing similar tactics against their wives.
