New Study: Male Sexual Desire Peaks in Middle Age

A recent article in Scientific Reports utilizes detailed data from over 67,000 individuals in the Estonian Biobank to determine which demographic characteristics correlate with greater sexual desire in both men and women. Men reported higher sexual desire than women across most ages. Despite common perceptions that men are horniest when young, male desire actually appears to peak around their late 30s to early 40s before gradually declining. Participants with only basic education had the highest sexual desire scores, while those with postgraduate degrees had the lowest. Career military, machine operators or vehicle drivers, and public officials or senior managers (in that order) tended to score highest in desire, while office, sales, and customer service workers scored lower. The highest average desire score was observed in participants who identified as bisexual, which is unsurprising
