An internet survey of 254 bi-sexual men finds that over one-third of them are not really attracted to men, but to the idea of being treated like a woman by men. They have no desire to penetrate other men, but only to be penetrated in scenarios that are often masochistic. Their conventional attraction to women shades into wanting to be like their own ideal of how a woman should look and perform sexually. Although mostly not considering themselves transgender, many are occasional transvestites and their sexuality corresponds to what sexologists call “autogynephilia,” a term coined in 1989 to describe a subset of the trans population.
