Norma Jean Almodovar is a former Los Angeles traffic officer turned sex worker turned sex work activist and founder of the nonprofit International Sex Worker Foundation for Art, Culture, and Education (ISWFACE), and her personal archive of papers and documents have just been acquired by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The collection can be found in the library’s Special Collections and Archives as part of its Sexual Entertainment and Economies initiative. Almodovar’s papers span the years 1918-2022, documenting both her personal life and years of sex work advocacy and activism.
