Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), the twice-divorced Republican sex symbol known for her numerous bikini pics, is now running for governor of her state. She wants to make it clear she has no tolerance for men she regards as creeps. On the positive side, she has called for outing her male colleagues for whom congressional funds went to settling sexual harassment claims. But she deploys her sex appeal and sexual disgust performatively as well. In addition to being a leading voice of Epsteinmania, she has recently introduced two bills to target sex offenders. Following moves at the state level in Florida and Alabama, she has proposed a federal death penalty for child molesters despite the Supreme Court ruling it unconstitutional as recently as 2008. In addition, she has introduced a second bill to exclude anyone on the sex offender registry from all homeless shelters that receive federal funds, with five years in prison for failing to identify themselves as a sex offender when entering the shelter. Forcing these people to live in tents does nothing to help law enforcement keep tabs on them.
