Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) has called on a House committee to investigate the NFL and NBC for allowing Bad Bunny’s halftime show. In Ogles’ words, “Children were forced to endure explicit displays of gay sexual acts, women gyrating provocatively, and Bad Bunny shamelessly grabbing his crotch while dry-humping the air. And if that weren’t outrageous enough, the performance’s lyrics openly glorified sodomy and countless other unspeakable depravities. These flagrant, indecent acts are illegal to be displayed on public airways.”

In their quest to characterize popular music as “gay propaganda,” some US politicians aim to rival Putin’s Russia, where a court ruled that a photo of the 1970s-80s rock band Queen was “gay propaganda.” The lead vocalist Freddie Mercury has long been regarded as a gay icon.
