Phony Epstein Victim and her Attorney Sanctioned

Judge Jessica Clarke has sanctioned Epstein accuser Kristy Makuta and her former attorney Jeanne Christensen for fabricating evidence to accuse Epstein and billionaire Leon Black of lurid  and sadistic sex crimes, even though it is now clear that she had never met either of them. She had also falsely accused her parents and high-school dance coach of “trafficking” her to Epstein. She and her attorney received widespread credence in the mainstream press and $2.5 million from the J.P. Morgan settlement fund, which was later reduced to $200,000 after her fraud was revealed. This and many similar incidents raise more questions about the laxity with which money has been doled out to purported victims with outlandish claims of abuse, which have in some cases included Epstein’s control of UFOs, shape-shifting, pregnancy farms, and forced surgical procedures which leave no scars. We should not absolve Epstein of what he actually did, but more critical scrutiny of claimants is in order. As in so many other well-publicized sex abuse cases, the potential for financial gain from deep-pocketed institutions attracts fraudulent victims as well as compensating real ones.
