In July, the Trump administration shut down LGBTQ+ youth support options on the national suicide hotline, putting the lives of LGBTQ+ kids and teens at risk. New bipartisan legislation introduced by Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) looks to restore the vital “option 3” which offers support to LGBTQ+ youth. The new 988 LGBTQ+ Youth Access Act would codify the services into law and require HHS to dedicate resources for the service.
