The Department of Health and Human Services has announced that it will no longer enforce a Biden-era policy requiring that LGBTQ youth needing foster care be placed in LGBTQ-affirming households. The Biden policy was ruled invalid by a federal district court in Texas in June 2025, so HHS claims it is merely removing an invalid provision from the federal code.
