We all have some Neanderthal genes within us. A study recently published in the journal Science has found chromosomal evidence that coupling between male Neanderthals and human females was much more common than the opposite pattern. This might in part be due to Neanderthals being physically stronger than humans, able to overpower humans in battle, even though they were dumber and could not adapt to their environment as well long-term. Could it also reflect the age-old truism that looks matter more to males, and human females looked sexier than Neanderthal women? Or could it be that human females preferred a strong partner to a smart one?
