The Trump administration has expanded its assault on pediatric gender medicine, as the Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department have announced they are investigating over 20 gender clinics for making fraudulent and deceptive claims about the medical necessity of gender transition for minor patients. In addition, pharmaceutical companies are being investigated for “violations of drug marketing laws.” A day-long workshop sponsored by the FTC on June 9 outlined what appears to be an aggressive multi-front legal strategy to close down the practice of “gender-affirming care” for minors in the US.
