Although the human papillomavirus (HPV) is not exclusively transmitted through sexual contact, it is the most common transmission method for the virus. A study has found that the introduction of the HPV vaccine has been highly effective in protecting young women from the cervical cancer causing virus. A surprising finding is that this protection seems to also include women who didn’t receive the vaccine.
