Heated Rivalry, the Queer Canadian sports series, is the gift that keeps giving. Hard Copy has reported on the series in previous editions (December 15 and January 15) and we can’t help but continue to report on the world-wide cultural sensation that is Heated Rivalry. If any more proof of the world-wide reach of the show was needed the stars, Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, carried the Olympic torch through Feltre, Italy as part of the Milano Cortina 2026 relay. Even the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, is a fan!
The series, based on Rachel Reid’s Queer hockey romance novel series Game Changer, has spoken to a broad range of fans. Sara Luterman of The 19th spoke with older gay hockey fans about their experience watching the series. For many it’s acceptance and a chance to reflect on their own experiences coming out.
